Campus Recreation

Recreation Center Employee Memberships

Campus Recreation offers CSU employees and their spouse/partner memberships to the on-campus health club! Details of Rec Center membership, along with programs and services, can be found on our website or in the Campus Recreation Guidebook distributed on-campus in academic buildings and the Lory Student Center. Non-Credit Instruction Classes

CSU employees are eligible to sign-up for numerous classes that provide an opportunity to try something new or continue skill development, such as dance yoga, martial arts, self-defense, guitar, or massage therapy.

Strength & Fitness

CSU employees with a Recreation Center membership are eligible to join in the group fitness exercise classes included in the membership or, sign-up for exercise and fitness classes such as personal training, fitness assessments, fitness consultations, weight room orientation, yoga, Pilates, spinning, sport specialty classes, etc. to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

Outdoor Adventure

CSU employees are eligible to participate in outdoor adventure classes, programs, or trips offered in local settings as well as international expeditions. Hiking, backpacking, climbing kayaking and many more activities compliment the seminars and workshops.

Challenge Course

CSU employees are offered discounted pricing for Challenge Course programs that focus on teambuilding, team development, and personal physical challenges on the 20 low and high course elements. Trained facilitators customize the experience to your group’s goals or, simply participate in a stimulating and fun experience.

Intramural Sports

CSU employees with a Recreation Center membership are eligible to participate in the Intramural Program, which offers a variety of organized, recreational or competitive sport activities and events.

Sport Clubs

CSU employees may join a Sport Club team when purchasing a Recreation Center membership. Employees may practice with club teams, but may not participate in competition with most clubs. Stop by the Sport Club Office off the 2nd floor lobby in the Recreation Center or call 491- 2116 for specific information.

Wellness Zone

Campus Recreation partners in sponsoring the WELLNESS ZONE which is located in the Lory Student Center. The WELLNESS ZONE provides information and referrals.

Conflict Resolution & Student Conduct Services

Conflict Resolution Services

Assistance provided to faculty and staff on matters with students

  • Issues could include interpersonal and/or intergroup conflicts, disruptive classroom behavior, concerning behavior, and hate/bias incidents
  • Assistance utilizes the continuum of services available through CRSCS, including advice and referrals, coaching, mediation, emergency consultation, student conduct process, restorative justice, and Healing Action Response Team (HART) consultation

Academic Dishonesty Advising and Assistance

  • For incidents of academic dishonesty, CRSCS can provide advice on implementation of university policy
  • For serious or complicated academic dishonesty incidents, cases are referred directly to CRSCS
  • Upon a student being found responsible for academic dishonesty, when appropriate CRSCS can facilitate the repairing of "harm" done to faculty and/or the class by conducting a restorative justice process

CRSCS staff can conduct skills training on various topics in your class

  • Conflict management
  • Interpersonal communication
  • Anger management
  • Restorative justice
  • Preventing and responding to hate/bias incidents

Enrollment Services

Study Privilege

Academic faculty and administrative professional on regular or special appointments and state classified staff, who obtain consent from their department headws may register, on a space available basis, for courses that are either job related or career enhancement in nature for up to six credits each academic year at no charge for regular tutition or regular frees provided their appointments are at least half-time. Hartshorn Health Service

The Travel Medicine Clinic

The Hartshorn Health Service provides comprehensive educational and immunization services for the purpose of preparing international travelers for healthy and safe experiences. These services are available to any student, faculty member, or staff member at Colorado State University. Spouses or significant others who are accompanying CSU personnel on international trips may also utilize the Travel Clinic. There is a nominal fee for faculty and staff for the travel consultation. Additional charges for prescriptions, immunizations, or other services may be incurred. Hartshorn offers the following services to faculty and staff:

  • Blood pressure checks at the Wellness Zone at no charge.
  • Chair massage (head, neck, shoulder) are offered at the Wellness Zone for non-students at $1 a minute or $10 for 10 minutes.
  • Flu shots are offered for a nominal fee.
  • Staying Alive is an exercise incentive program offered for a nominal fee.
The Wellness Zone in the LSC offers information and referral.

Faculty/Staff Weekend at Pingree Park

Enjoy a weekend at CSU’s beautiful mountain campus, Pingree Park. Located adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park, Pingree is the perfect place to enjoy hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing and relaxation. Faculty/staff weekends are conducted each fall and spring. Meeting and Conference Planning Services

The Office of Conference Services is here to help your department with conferences and meetings, whether on campus or across the country. We can arrange meeting space, lodging, food service, transportation, audiovisual equipment, and other conference requirements. Faculty/Staff Meal Plans

CSU employees are eligible for discounted campus meal plans that are convenient and cost effective. Use your faculty/staff ID card for all you care to eat meals at any one of our seven dining centers plus Durrell Express and Allison Cafe. Meals can be purchased individually for just $5.25* or in a block of 5 meals for $23.75* or a block of 10 meals for $45*. You can also use meal plans to grab a quick meal on the run at Durrell Express where you can find convenient sandwiches, salads, pizza, and more, or at Allison Café which features Spoons, Soups and Salads®. Convenience Accounts

Use your ID card to eat at the Lory Student Center, any residential dining center, or Cram-a-latte in Morgan Library. Easy online account maintenance allows you to add money and check your balance anytime. The money in the account is yours – no set-up fees, no transaction fees, just a minimum starting balance of $25.00 when you first set up your Convenience Account. It does not expire as long as you are at CSU. You can establish this account using cash, check, Visa or Mastercard. University Apartments

Join our International community! CSU faculty and staff are eligible to live in the university apartments based on availability after student placement. University apartments offer affordable rates, close proximity to campus, month-to-month leases, and great social and cultural activities. Single rates start at just $375 per month and family apartments range from $588-802 and include all utilities plus basic cable and local telephone. Lory Student Center

University Club

CSU employees (as well as retirees and alumni) are eligible for membership at the University Club. The fees are currently $15/month for faculty/staff. Membership includes complimentary continental breakfast Monday – Friday as well as complimentary hors do’euvres on Thursday afternoons during the school year. U Club members are invited to special events such as dinners, receptions and presentations. U Club members also receive 20% off at the Aspen Grille and 10% off at the CSU Bookstore (excluding electronics, textbooks, some specialty items and already discounted merchandise). LSC Governing Board

The Lory Student Center Governing Board is comprised of students, staff, faculty and alumni of Colorado State University. The Board approves all policies for the Lory Student Center and helps to ensure the LSC is a welcoming place for the campus community. Get involved by contacting the Executive Director’s office at 491-6395.

CSU Bookstore Specials for Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff may special order any books or purchase any books in the collection for their personal library! See us at the Book Information Counter at the CSU Bookstore and get $10 in free books for every $100.00 bought as part of our Literary Additions Book Club. For more information, call Fran Wilson at 491-1500.

The General Book Department will also take your auxiliary book recommendations for students and have these selections on hand at the bookstore. Contact Don Voss at 491-1475.

Convenience Accounts

Save your cash and use your ID card to eat in the Lory Student Center instead. Convenience Accounts are accepted at all dining locations and the convenience store. Volunteer Opportunities

CSU employees are welcome to volunteer their time at a variety of events throughout the year sponsored by Student Leadership and Civic Engagement including Cans Around the Oval and more. For more details, contact SLCE at 491-1682.

Employee Appreciation at the CSU Bookstore

Each December the CSU Bookstore sponsors an employee appreciation event for CSU faculty, staff and their families. The event includes special discounts, speakers, prizes, food and more. Watch for details about this year’s event.

Poudre Valley Author Day

Each April the CSU Bookstore hosts Poudre Valley Author Day which recognizes authors from our community. The event is free and open to the public. Watch for details about this year’s event.

Events at the CSU Bookstore

Nearly every week at the CSU Bookstore during the school year at least one special event is held which is free and open to the public. The events usually include a lecture/discussion from an author followed by a question and answer session and a book signing. Past guests have included Temple Grandin, Jacob Fellure

Guest Lectures by Attorneys

Attorneys from Student Legal Services are available to speak to your classes on many topics, including:

  • Wills, powers of attorney and living wills
  • Criminal laws
  • Business issues from forming a business to non-compete agreements
  • Housing issues

You propose it, and chances are we can compose it!

Document Notarization

Notarization of documents is a free service provided by Student Legal Services staff for CSU faculty, staff and students. If you have a document that needs to be notarized, please bring the document to the SLS office with an ID that includes your picture and signature. As the notary will need to witness the signing of the document, please do not sign the document in advance.

Student Legal Services Advisory Board

The Student Legal Services Advisory Board includes one faculty or staff person from CSU. The Board meets monthly during the academic year and functions to set policies and procedures for the SLS office, reviews the annual budget and handles customer suggestions and complaints. If you are interested in serving on the Student Legal Services Advisory Board, please contact the Director of Student Legal Services at 491-1482.

University Counseling Center

Life Skills Workshops

The Wellness Zone, located in the Lory Student Center, offers a variety of life skills workshops that are open to both students and staff/faculty. Topics are varied. Testing Service

The Faculty Test Scoring Service (FTSS) is operated by the University Counseling Center (UCC) and Information Systems. The basic service includes the scoring of multiple choice class exams, ranking of students within the class, item and test statistics, and percentage of students answering each question correctly. Additional services include computation of student averages for the entire course, input of lab/homework grade, and e-mail or disk files containing student names, PID#, and grades for each exam. Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a no-cost, confidential assistance program to help employees address personal, legal and financial issues and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Spouses and dependent children of CSU employees may be eligible for the Tuition Scholarship Program for spouses and dependent children.
