CSS and Coding Standards
This version of 'On The Same Page' utilizes standards-compliant Cascading Style Sheets and xhtml layout. Since 1994, the W3C Consortium — an international standards organization — has encouraged worldwide development based on these standards. The standards allow people to design products to a standard, and code data that can be viewed by any standards compliant agent. This includes Assistive Technology for users with special needs, as well as a wide variety of other technologies. What this means for you is a better web experience that uses the latest technology to bring you better web pages faster.
Web browsers that understand standards-compliant code include Internet Explorer 5, 5.5, 6, and above, IE 5 for Macintosh and above, Netscape 6.2 or higher, and many others.
Netscape 4 is not on this list. It was released in June of 1997, over six years ago and is NOT a standards compliant browser. 'On The Same Page' no longer supports visual designs for Nestcape 4.x or other non-standards compliant browsers, though the content should still be available to all browsers or internet devices (including screen readers, very old browsers, and text-only browsers). Users of Netscape 4.x (or other non-standards compliant browsers) should consider upgrading to one of the browsers listed above.
