Updates from the Advancement and Strategic Initiatives Office:
Distinguished First Generation Scholars received an endowment gift
Mr. William S. Jackson, Jr., a long-time Denver resident, was brought by Eveline Yang, Director of Development, to the Student Affairs Division in September. His visit with VP Blanche Hughes, Paul Thayer, Barb Musslewhite impressed him. He made two outright gifts, $10,000 and $15,000 to the Program for the purpose of establishing a William Sharpless Jackson, Jr. Scholarship Endowment. His gift will fund one $1,000 scholarship to the Distinguished Scholar in perpetuity.
‘Tis is the season to give thanks and reconnect
The newly established Development Planning Ad Hoc Group consisting members, Linda Ahuna, Bill Bertschy, Jody Donavan, Foula Dimopopolous, Mark Koepsell, Deb Morris and Eveline Yang, have been busy working on the Donor Appreciation Event scheduled to be on the evening of November 16th at the Lory Student Center’s Longs Peak Room. A reception with refreshments and entertainment preceding the dinner will be held at the Duhesa Lounge. The purpose of the gathering is to reconnect the donors with both VP’s, Blanche Hughes and Robin Brown.
Eveline Yang invites your initiations on gift and grant opportunities
It is highly possible someone out there wants to have a reason to help your programs. Please give them a reason to. If you have program ideas, specific enhancement plans, do share with Eveline so she can help relay your aspiration to the donors. She can be reached at eyang@ua.colostate.edu. Remember, the number 1 reason for donors to give is “they asked me to give.”
