Spread the Word to End the Word
We are collecting pledges to get people to stop using the R-word “retard(ed)”. This event is aimed at trying to better people’s understanding of the hurtful nature of using the word. We hope to gain awareness for people with disabilities.
The Civil Rights Road Trip
The Civil Rights Road Trip provides CSU students with an in-depth, hands-on look at the history of the Civil Rights Movement, from the 1960s to the present. The purpose is to link this history with social struggles that still exist today in order to help students imagine ways to mindfully participate in the ongoing movement for equality and social change. We will visit multiple historically-significant civil rights sites, talk with key leaders in the movement, participate in community service, and reflect upon the impact and power of people working collectively for social change. The trip will wrap up in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans with the non-profit group Common Ground Relief.
FSAE International West Competition
This event helps make CSU a nationally recognized center for Motorsport Engineering, and exposes CSU students to an innovative, competitive, and education-oriented environment. Students in attendance build teamwork and leadership skills. Students also develop skills required to work in a fast paced, international environment.
President’s Leadership Program
Established in 1989 as a one-year program, CSU’s President’s Leadership Program (PLP) has grown to a three year, fourteen credit leadership development experience. In addition to traditional classroom learning, students participate in retreats, service projects, and internships that allow them to apply their knowledge and training.
