Thank you to everyone in the Division for your fabulous work this past year and a special congratulations to the award winners and nominees for the 2009 Division of Student Affairs Awards that were presented on May 27, 2009 at the Awards and Recognition Event in the LSC Sculpture Garden.
There was a nomination for the Bridges Award that was inadvertently left off of the list of nominations that was announced on May 27th. That team is the Housing and Dining Communications Task Force! Please accept my apologies for this oversight and congratulations on your nomination!
Below is the list of ALL of the award winners and nominees for the 2009 Division of Student Affairs Awards! Congratulations again!

In 2005-2006, the Division of Student Affairs established four different awards. The purpose was to recognize the contributions of individuals and teams across the Division for their efforts and accomplishments in making a positive difference in their work environments, service to students, and commitment to diversity.
We are pleased to announce that we are seeking nominations for the Academic Year 2008-2009 Division Awards. Administrative professional and state-classified employees who are working at least 30 hours a week are eligible for the awards. The award recipients will be announced at the Division of Student Affairs Staff Appreciation Reception slated for Wednesday, May 27, 2008 from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
Each of the individual awards requires a separate nomination. Teams may nominate themselves for the Bridges Award, or be nominated by someone outside the group. The nomination should be for actions, work, initiatives, etc. that occurred this academic year. Completed nomination forms are available on-line (click on award name) and must be submitted (on-line, hand-written or type-written) by 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2009.
For applications, please click on award name.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:
This award will be given to the person who has demonstrated the ability to take initiative in developing or enhancing programs/services that meet the changing needs of the department and/or students. The individual may develop ways to enhance existing programs or create new ones. Solutions developed to address program improvement reflect creativity in use of resources which includes people, budgets and technology.
This award will be given to an individual who is influential in creating a positive work environment. The person is someone who encourages the involvement of others and teamwork toward common goals. S/he also helps others be successful and may be considered an inspiration to others.

The willingness to go "above and beyond" to reach identified goals is evident by the individual's positive attitude. The individual is consistently engaged in his/her work. Others, especially students, may comment on this person's helpfulness, professionalism and assistance.
Individuals will receive an engraved award and their names will be added to the plaque displayed in the Lory Student Center.
TEAM AWARD:

Together the team achieves more than could have been accomplished by any one individual or department.
